As a multidisciplinary and multidimensional artistic endeavour, the work of Giulia Sandri spans across the arts and design, with a background in classical music, stop motion animation and anthropology. Since her roots were nurtured by the arts and crafts of Italy’s everyday’s culture, and by the colours and dreams of her artist father’s paintings, it was natural, during her years abroad, to also absorb and transform the influence of Australian Aboriginal art’s inherent rhythm and composition, as well as the more tactile and symbolic message of conceptual design objects and their poetic movement and presence in video production.
